As you hit a creature with a weapon attack vines appear on it. Target must succeed a Strength save or be restrained until the spell ends.

> = Large creatures have advantage on this save. Failed save has the Restrained condition til the spell ends. Target succeeds on the save, vines shrivel and the spell ends.
While Restrained, Target takes 1d6 Piercing damage at the start of each of its turns.

A creature restrained or one that can touch the creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. Success? The target is freed and spell ends.
At Higher Levels: If spell is cast using a spell slot => 2nd level,damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
